Logging Appliance

The idea is to provide an applicance version of rsyslog combined with phpLogCon. Some background available at http://blog.gerhards.net/2008/10/logging-appliance.html
The logging appliance is now available at http://www.syslogappliance.de.
[edit] Platforms
- appliance currently targeted toward VMWare, as this is widely available, at least in the corporate world
- initial thinking is/was to use plain Debian
- Ubunto JeOS looks like a very promising alternative (more elaborate doc here, HOWO (Linux Magazine))
- Red Hat Virtual Appliance Development Kit was suggested
